- Description
- Sept. 26 "1941. Dear Mr Carter:- Mr. Stone arrived at 9 A.M. yesterday morning and worked continuously until 5 P.M. only taking time out to eat our very informal midday dinner with us - Today we will introduce him toa dish of white wing pidgeons - Yesterday was the last day they could be killed. Mr. Stone seems to be taking kindly to our primitive kind of living. I was very happy when Mr. Garner ordered him to take off his coat when we sat down to eat. He is working like one possessed. Just heard from John McDuffie telling us he had marred a few days ago in Washington. All is well with us, I hope it is the same with you. Love from us both. Sincerely grateful, Ettie Garner.
