- July 3-48 Dear Amon= The box of cigars has arrived - as usual they are extra fine - I will smoke one each Sunday and think of a great American, who I am proud to call my friend - thanks - I pray you may have good health this and all other years - Ettie as you probably know is a helpless invalid. Thank Heaven she suffers no pain - I am O.K. Your friend, Jno. N. Garner P.S. The pears are here and Ettie is already working on them - she says tell you that she will enjoy them Thanks. J.N.G.
