- Description
- 107 Brown St. Waxahachie, Texas July 31, 1943 Mr. Amon G. Carter Fort Worth, Texas Dear Mr. Carter: I received a post card from Edward this morning written June 30, from camp 64. It is only a short message and was sent to the War Department by the Red Cross, and the War Dept. sent it to me. He said he was all right, had reicved no mail, and for me to send him food and a picture. That was all he said. It didn't fill the card even, so evidently he had been told to make it brief so it would go through quicker. At the top of the card he printed "Rush Message" and all of the message was printed in pencil. However, I know Edward wrote it because he always prints the addresses and it looks just like it. I hope you have heard from Amon Junior by now. If not, maybe you will in a day or two. Sincerely yours, Mrs. Edward Batte.
