Description
March, 6th - 1944 Dear Mr. Carter: - Enclosed is a letter I received from Col. Barron this post Saturday - Mar. 4th. I thought it best to first send the letter, so you could read the details of Catp. Torrence's death. All of us here, feel more relieved to know that 2 he did not suffer and that his death was of a natural cause, and I feel sure all the rest of them are getting along fine. I received two letters on Friday that are very interesting and I think I shall first send them to you along with the one about the Captain's death. 3 I would like to have them back as soon as possible. In one of these letters, Col. Barron finally spoke of Pal, our dog, and Effie, our maind. He is very fond of Pal and had never mentioned him in previous letters which worried me a little. However, now, I feel everything is alright with them and like you, I am anxiously awaiting that glorious day of their return. Regards to Mrs. Deakins and best wishes to you Mrs Gaines J.
