Description
Friday. Aug. 18th 1944 Dear Mr. Carter: - I sent the enclosed article to my aunt, Mrs Marvin Sansom, asking her to take it to your office for you to read. She returned it this morning, saying she called your office about it. I am now sending it directly to your office 2 along with two letters I received last Monday from Col. Barron. I am quite excited about the contents of the clipping, and feel sure "ours" are in the crowd that were freed, possibly they were being moved out of Poland and got as far as a Warsaw station. 3 Of course I'm worried about them fighting with Polish army, also about col. Barron having a wounded hip. His letter is the first I knew of it. I wonder if there is any way you could check up to find out for sure they were Oflag 64 prisoners that were freed and where they are now. I'm sure you will return the letter as soon as you can and thank you kindly. Best regards to Mrs Deakins and yourself. Mrs Gaines J. Barron 3200 Ethel Ave Waco Texas. It was on the radio Sunday about Polish army freeing the prisoners.
