- October 12th 1944. Dear Mrs. Deakins: - I cannot tell you how very much I appreciated you sending the pictures, I found Col. Barron in three of them, and I was so excited when I saw him and of course cried some too. I would have written you immediately but was out of town a few days at the funeral 2. of a cousin, who was killed about ten days ago out in Arizona while in training. Funeral was in Cleburne last Saturday. Mrs. Richard Torrence was so happy to get the pictures you sent. Mrs. Hal jones of Austin saw mine and is so anxious for some. Her husband is in two or three. I couldn't give her any because Col. Barron was in the same ones. Naturally I want them. But first I must ask you, am I supposed to return them to you. I certainly will do that. Let me know, but if I do not hear, I'll know it is alright to keep them. Again I thank you with all my heart and will certainly let you know any news I hear from Col. Barron.
