- Description
- March 11, 1943 Mr Amon Carter, Star Telegram, Ft Worth, Texas My Dear Mr. Carter:- I just heard that your son, Amon Jr was missing in action. By the Great Deliverer I hope this isn't true and if he is that the Devine Power sees that he is safe somewhere. You know that I have always admired you and your son more that you will ever know. It is certainly great to have the satisfaction that you must have in knowing that your son was a great American boy. I, too, am having a heavy heart when some of the fine boys I have had the privilege of coaching are making the supreme sacrifice. I just want you to know that your grief is being shared by your friends. Lets pray for the best and maybe everything will come out for the best. A devoted admirer, Dutch Meyer.
