- Description
- Mch. 12 My dear Mr. Carter - I am terribly upset to learn that Amon Jr. is missing in Tunisia. I am encouraged however, and I am sure you are, to learn that the great majority of casualties are missing and not killed. Sure he was in an advanced post he was probably cut off by the very rapid advance of the Germans and is now a prisoner. I would think there is a very good chance that he wil be back with our forces before long because it is my sincere opinion that Rommel will have to surrender within the newar future. In the meantime if there is anything I can do I know you will let me know and I shall hope & pray with you that that fine boy is safe. Most sincerely, Barton K. Yount
