- Friday Dear Mr. Carter, I have just read about Amon Jr. being held prisoner in N. Africa. I am indeed sorry to hear of this, because he is "topo" as fas as I am concerned, and I know how this bad news has left you. This news is almonst unbelievable, but no matter where he is I feel confident that he is safe & is in good health. I know him well enough to know that he capable of making the best out of the worst circumstances; so maybe some better news will be forthcoming. I know this letter is poorly written, but just can't put down the way I feel. If you hear any news I would appreciate hearing from you.
