- Description
- Thursday Dear Mr. Carter: Mere words are so meaningless at a time like this, but I want you to know that I understand and am thinking and praying for Amon, Jr's. safety. We must not despair; there is good hope. The news of late has been encouraging with the allies on the offensive, and American prisoners in enemy terrigory will be released or can escape. To you, who has and always has had such a generous and noble spirit, & to the fine young man that Mon, Jr. is, it all is so unfair. But, God is good, Mr. Carter, we must have faith. He will protect him. I feel so deeply, & I just can't express myself. You're always in my thought, and I'm sorry we can't be with each other to see this thing through together. The boys will fight for Amon's release, I know! Have faith. You are always in my heart. Lovingly, Jane
