- Description
- March 12 1940 Dear Amon: I was terribly shocked this morning to read that Amon Jr. was missing in action. And I know you you must feel. But keep up hope Amon. Missing in action, in worst cases, means he is alive and if he is in the hands of the Axis and knowing him as I do and as your son, he'll fare all right and be back when this is over. I read where some 2,000 of our soldiers were caught in that first action and take prisoner and let us hope and pray he is one of the men. And being an officer, and a brave one, they must respect him and treat him as well as prisoner of war as we treat our prisoners. The Nazis know this. I have his picture Amon, and am going to say a prayer for him often_ that he is safe and alive and that the war is over soon. Sincerely Sky
