- Description
- March 13, 1943 Dear Mr. Carter, Many friends of yours and fellow citizens have doubtless filled your mail with notes of sympathy. As a newcomer to the city who has for many years known your name at a distance I would like to express my sorrow at the report concerning your son. You may be sure that all those who know you and hundreds who had never even met you are hoping and praying for his safety now and for his safe return when this war shall have run its course. I suppose there is a very small chance, but if the circumstance should ever arise in which I could be of comfort or service to you, I hope you will not fail to call on me. Sincerely yours, Thomas D. Currie, Jr.
