- Description
- Bowie, Tex, March 23, 1943. Mr. Amon G. Carter Ft. Worth, Texas, Dear Mr. Carter: Please accept my deepest sympathy in the distressing news you have received of you gallant, beloved young son. We can but cling to the thought that "missing in action" carries a thread of hope. I did not know Lieutenant Carter, but I am convinced that he had much of the determination, resourcefulness, and courage of his father, and that if he was spared he will find a way out, I appreciate the brave and noble service he has given to our Country. May a power higher and mightier than family or friends strenghten and comfort you for whatever message the future may bring. Most sincerely, (A Bowie friend.) Mrs. W.R. Potter.
