Description
Wilsondale Farm Needham, Mass. March 30th Dear Mr. Carter. Thank you so very much for sending me the clippings about Amon. What wonderful news! I can only guess how you must feel, but know how relieved I would be under similar circumstances. You will probably hear from Amon personally, if you haven't already. A friend of mine's husband is also a prisoner in Germany, and she has heard from him several times. I have just written Bruce about Amon because I know he'd want to know. He admires Amon so very mjuch, and felt very badly about him. I have had very little news recently which isn't surprising right now, but when last heard from Bruce was fine and in good spirits. Did you meet Capt.(illegible) when you were with the Battalion? He was B.C. of "A" Btry. He was wounded, (illegible) in February, only to be taken prisoner while on his way to the (illegible) hospital in an ambulance. Fortunately, his wound wasn't too serious- (illegible) but they are very anxious about him because they have had no furthre news of him; just that a Nazi patrol took the ambulance (illegible). Thank you again for sending the clippings. I appreicate it very much. Sincerely Elizabeth (illegible)
