- Description
- Monday- Amon, dear: I am enclosing a page from Sidney's letter we received at noon today. I think you probably know Captain Asbury Lee- a fine thing that he did, but Sidney has never written- or at least we didn't get it. What Asbury found out. The "old man" is McQuillin- we always refer to him as that. Return the page to me when you've finished with it. I don't know where Asbury went_ I can only guess. Have faith_ it takes a long time for news to reach us- you know how long it took the Japs to release their prisoners list_ & then it came bit by bit. All over boys are eager to know of Amon Jr. as you well know. I'm praying for his welfare. I wrote Sidney today asking about the glasses, camera, and money_ as you wanted me to do. I appreciated Mrs. Deakins calling me. I've been so worried and upset right with you and her. Lovingly, Jane (over) Tuesday A.M.- letter from Sidney written March 9th saying- "Didn't write Amon as I planned. Somehow there's nothing to write. Lee got back with a good case of fleas and no information on what I wanted. Of course, that's good news."
