Description
521 East 81 St. New York City. April 8, 1943. Fort worth Star-Telegram Fort Worth. Texas. Dear Sir: Quite some time ago, I read in the New York papers, that a very dear friend of mine, Lieut Amon G. Carter Jr., was reported missing in action and believed to be a prisoner in the hands of the Nazis. Before this report, I've written Gary continuously at Fort Dix, Northern Ireland and Africa, addressing them to the 91st Armored Field Artillery, A.P.O. 251 c/o Postmaster New York, and have always received answers from him saying how glad he was to receive letters from me. I have inquired at the Red Cross about continuing writing him at the prison camp but they weren't able to give me very much assistance. They advised me to write a Texas paper and perhaps through them, I would receive some information about Lieut. Carter's whereabouts. Thanking you graciously for any information you have about Lieut. Carter, or I can write him words of encouragement, I remain Yours truly, Hidegarde Zinn
