- Description
- 4/15/43 Dear Mr. Carter, I just learned though Jean Stubbs that Amon is missing. I hope and pray that he wasn't killed. Amon wrote from England that you were there to visit him. He told me that I should contact you in Fort Worth. At the time I was going to school studying bombardiering. I called at your home on my way over seas, but you were out of town. We were together at Fort Knox Ky. I am the boy from West Virginia. Mr. Carter don't you worry everything will turn out allright. We have boys missing all the time down here int he jungles. They always turn up some place. I know from experience that boys from the armored units are a lot tougher than these air corps flyers. If you do locate his whereabouts please let me know. He is my first and only friend from Texas. My love and good luck, Lt. Sowers
