- Description
- Dear sir: Mr. Ohlers, Mail carrier route 27 San Antonio tells me that on a recent visit to San Antonio Jim Ferguson (Illegible) him in his room a grip filled with pint bottles of liquor. He also said that the house detective of the Gunter hotel received from the X-governor several hundred dollars to keep quiet in this matter. Mr. Ochlers said that he received this information from a brother of the house detective who is a friend of his--this may all be a lie but in view of the fact that the negro butler of (Illegible) governor has been caught bootlegging it might be worth investigating. If you decide to investigate this story will do what I can to assist you but will ask that you keep my name and that of Mr. Ochlers out of it. Yours Truly 411 Oakland st W. A. Fitch
