- Description
- March 7, 1944: Dear Dad, Just finished playing cards with lt. Pawloski. I will warn you, and the rest of the family now, not to expect me as easy money for your card games. The identity card that the American soldier carries at all time, I lost in Africa, did anyone ever return it to you? Have received lots of mail lately and also November parcel, which was swell. I exchanged some soup for Nescafe. From now on send only food. I don't need any clothes. Clothes were delivered here this day from Geneva. None of the good parcels from Canada have arrived here lately. I imagine they'll be here soon though. Just hope the excellent cigars arrive. Just received my 5th cigar parcel, had only a few left. Thank Jean for the fine over-seas cap. Am getting along fine and dandy, because we have joyful thoughts lately. Beasley says hello, but please don't tell his wife he has become a good bridge player. If you see Arthur soon, please make some arrangements fro him to get some stamps and covers, especially from where he was last March. I am slowly gaining back my weight and before long, will have it all back. Give my love to everyone and I will write again soon. Lots of Love, Amon Jr.
