Description
August 20, 1944 Dear Dad, 35 new officers arrived here 2 days ago from France. Here are the names of 3 from Texas. Lt. Albert N Cecil Jr, Box 909 Houston. Lt Paul D Marable, 1017 W Main Clarksville, and Lt Roger Whiting, 2809 Fourth Street, Port Arthur. Here are some more officers from Texas who were with these men, but they went to an air camp instead of here, Capt. Kirby C Martin PO Box 135, El Campo Lt Joe Wilson Box 478 Greggton, Tex. Everything is fine in camp and life goes on as usual and the time passes slowly. We are all sure it will be over by next year. Am glad you have seen Larry Allen, and had a chance to talk with him. So far I have received my march clothing parcel and 1 tobacco parcel. We have had very few parcels in the last 2 months but itis to be expected. Give my love to everyone and I'll try to write often. My feet are in pretty good condition, so don' t worry. Lots of Love Amon Jr.
