Description
Nov 21,1944 Dearest Ruth, The time is certainly passing slowly and I get madder everyday. The winter is here to stay and most of us stay in bed all day to keep warm. This morning we got all excited when a box car arrived from Sweden, but it was just lumber from the YMCA, and not food parcels. We ran out 6 weeks ago. Other camps have them, but we don't. How is the weather in Texas this time of the year? I would give anything I have to be able to make a good bird hunting trip to Mexica or Colorado Springs. I wouldn't pay any attention to the hunting laws, but shoot a bag full of both male and female pheasant and then eat until couldn't eat anymore. Hope there are plenty left when I get home. You swell letters and arriving regularly. Be sure to keep sending picture of all the girls. Tell dad that LA left too soon. He could certainly write some wonderful stories, but no one would believe them. Hope you and everyone has a very Merry Christmas. I hope to be home next Christmas although I will have changed a lot. I am so don't worry , I just hate to babe so helpless. Thank Bertice for her swell letters. Be sweet and write often. Love, Bud. PS send me some good jokes.
