Description
Box 163 Farleton Station, Texas November 3, 1944 Mr. Amon G. Carter Fort Worth Texas Dear Mr. Carter: I am enclosing the photo static copy of your son's letter which your secretary Katrine Deakin, sent to us this week, because information concerning the arrival of my son, Capt. Horace and Donaho, ah Oflag 64 was given. Please convey our sincerest thanks to her for thoughtfulness in sending the letter so soon after it reached you. As the mother of a prisoner, I can fully appreciate the concern you feel toward our American boys who fall into the hands of the enemy. I read Colonel Drake's article in the Star Telegram last Sunday and truly hope conditions in Oflag 64 are improving. My son's letters are quite cheerful and he says the boys as a whole are in good physical and mental condition. My prayers are that they shall continue to stay well and as contended as in possible for a freedom loving American to who is confined in a prison camp. Again may I thank you for the letter. I appreciate you willingness to show you son's letter with us. Sincerely yours, Eula Langston Donaho
