Description
2941 North 52nd Street Lincoln Nebraska December 14, 1942 Dear Mr. Carter: I'm sincere in saying that the telephone call from your secretary Friday was on of the nicest things that has ever happened to me. Forward that my husband was fit and swell and safe came as just the right moment. I'd been assuring myself that the 1st AD warrant involved in the African Campaigns and ever though I'd had cables, I couldn't quite understand the lack of mail. I'm sure you understand how I felt and would feel about receiving your message and I do appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness more than I can say. Sincerely, Edina Down
