- Fort Worth, Texas April 20, 1943 Mr. Amon G Carter Fort Worth, Texas My dear Mr. Carter, Somehow your recent sorrow has ouched me, as is as many others, very deeply. Not that I know you personally, or perhaps, ever shall, but I have watched the papers of nes of ou son, very cosely. I was thrilled for you when I read that he still, living though on German soil. I'm not a writer, as you can detect, but as I was dressing the other morning to go to my school work at Peter Smith school this story suddenly flashed into my mind. It perhaps will be just another not too good a story to you . If so I'm very sorry to have failed to put it in the waste basket myself. Anyway I'm happy for you that your son has been located.
