- Tuesday - My dear Mr. Carter - Your lovely jonquil came like a breath of spring sunshine. The Hotel put them on ice and I rec'd them this A.M. just as we ---- to Culver and Chicago. We had a very happy week with our two sons & their families. I was so happy to hear our darling Amon was alive. Here's hoping he'll have strength and, I'm sure, courage to ? every emergency.
