- April 27h Dear Mr. Carter, I have just been through Dallas on my way back to Knsas City and heard the wondreful news about Amon, Jr. I can't tell you how pleased I was to hear that he was alright in spite of his being held prisoner by the Germans let us hope that too much time will not go by before the end of this war may so that your son and many others like him can ones again return to their homes and a more normal way of life. As you see I am now based at Kansas City and it looks very much as though it would is a permanent change. However, it may be my good fortune to us down you way one of these day sin wich tears I shall mos certainly make time oto say hello! With all best wishes to you in which hope joins me.
