- Description
- " Dear Mr. Carter, this may come as a surprise, but I know Amon, Jr. will be pleased that I am writing. You will have got over the dissapointment of his being made a POW, but my assurances that he is able to care for himself will come as a great encouragement to you & form a message of goodwill for Christmas I hope. We Were in the same ward when Kr. had a shell of jaundice. We found we had much in common and he has promised to visit me at my home in the country when happier times return for us all. Before he moved to his new camp, he had recovered fully & was in tremendous spirits & had an important comp appointment - that of a parcels officer, which he was filling extrordinarily well. When you write to him, please give him my remembrances. Our plans after the war will doubtless amaze you. Amon wants to visit England, and I want to show him the historic places in which he was obviously keenly interested, whereas I had to insist the states and do a lecture tour. It seems we belong to similar fraternal organizations, so that all seemsest set for a life of pleasant & friendly reunion when peace returns. I am in education, with journalistic __ being my hobby & Amon I here is coming to see my grandma one day. Ou experiences are ___ ___, but I do assure all of ou who love him that they will have a __ and manly influence on the right fellow & Amon is one of those. Yours very sincerely, Capt W. Deacon.
