- Description
- Headquarters, 315th Reconaissance Wing, APO 634, % Postmaster, New York City, February 3, 1945 Dear Amon: My thoughts have been with you during the last couple of weeks. The Russian advance has overrun the location of Amon Jr's POW camp, and I have hoped that you would be getting word that he has been liberated by the Russians. I hope that if you do hear cheering news that you could have your secretary let me know about it. I miss the news from the Fort Worth these days, and I would like to ask a favor of you. Would you send me a subscription to the Star Telegram to be sent to above address? If you would then let me know the cost of the subscription I coul send you a money order by return mail. It is very cheering to be about to read about the people you have called you friends for so many years, and about the place that I will always call home. The tempo of our adventures over here is stepping up considerably now that we are getting a few more days of food flying weather each succceding month. The end is in sight, I hope! Sincerely, Elliot Roosevelt
