- Description
- Paris 5 February 1943 Dear Mr. Carter: Nary Captain Harry Butcher was back in his office today after an illness with a severe brochial cold, and he was gracioulsy eurdial. He's inquired immediatelly about you and was particulary interested in the likelihood that the camp where Amon, Jr. has been a prisoner probably has been overrun by the Russian advance. It's said the American military mission in Moscow undoubtedly is watch that situation closely and he has no doubt you will be notified quickly of any favorable developments. He has promised to help me get an appointment with General Eisenhower when I return to Paris within a few weeks from the 3rd Amry, and said, " Tell Amon I don't know when I'll have a opportunity to write a perosnal letter to him, because the work has stacked up whilst I've been ill -- but he will hear from me" Sincerely, Bob WIlson 3rd US Army Press Camp APO 403 Care Postmaster NY
