Description
Somewhere, Italy Feb 6, 1944 Dear Sir: I had a letter the other day from Mrs. Lena Pope telling me of the misfortune that has overtaken your son. I knew him well in high school and sincerely regret this news of him. I hope that with an early victory you soon will be re-united with im. Have no fear for his mental or spritual welfare because he "can take it" This I well know. Mrs. Pope also informed me of the fine work you are doing for the building of the new "home." Knowing of your work in the park I can't see that it will be anything but a successs. May I, at this time, proffer my own personal thanks I own you for this work. I am one of the proud alumni of that wonderful home. The war in this theater is trying the American soldier as no war of operations in the past has ever triend them and they are standing up nobly under the stress and strain. Once again, I offer my regards to you Sir in your present work. Sincerely hope no harm befalls you son in his present position. Sincerely Yours, Thomas L. Calwell Calvalry
