- Description
- August 8, 1943 Dear Folks, Am getting along fine. Received more pictures and letter from Mrs. Ben Weeks but no letters from you since June 1st although rumor has it we get a lot tomorrow. Capt. Martine heard from his mother and he said you were corresponding with her. Am looking forward to your letters. Sure wish I was with my old outfit and when I get home, which I think will be soon, I am going to try and get back in my old division after resting awhile. I wish you would look in my room or closet and see if you can find any negatives size 4x5 inches, of any pictures I took down at Austin and send me some prints. Everyone is trying to get as many pictures as possible, so send me some that I took at the university, but only the 4x5 size. If possible I also need one of my triangular division insignia if you can fine one, Did my uniform ever come home? I am well as possible but time passes very slowly. Need some Gillette blades. Also cigarettes and especially cigars and especially cigarettes. Give everyone my love and have them write. Love Amon JR
