Description
Dear Dad, My first parcel form home arrived last week along with first two boxes of cigars. The cigars didn't last long because they were the first we had seen in 6 moths. My package was swell, but I still don't have any pants or hat. I was captured in coveralls, which weren't any good after the Arabs got through with me and for the last 6 months I have been wearing an old British pair. I need a new armored Force Overseas Green Cap, Size 7 3/8. I think you can order one from Knox. Some of the parcels that are arriving are twice the size of mine. I think some post offices allow them to come through that way. Also some of them don't have labels on them. In some packages the US censors have taken the chocolate out while some arrive with 48 bars in them. There are absolutely no restrictions by the Germans on what you can send in the line of food and clothes. Please start sending mostly food from now on, with razor blades because some of the things you have been told are not true. I have received 6letters from you , 3 from Katrine, and 2 from mother & Jean so far. I am fine. Although I only weigh 148 lbs. Give Ruth, mother, Jean, Bertice, Carl & Katrine and all my love. Thanks a lot again for the cigars and clothes. I will write again soon. Love, Amon JR
