- Description
- Dear Katrine, I am getting along fine and waiting for my second parcel. I hope it has mostly food in it. Some of the officers get a lot of chocolate and food in theirs while others don't. Also some of the packages are a lot bigger. I think the censors and the Red Cross are mixed up a little because the Germans don't prohibit food coming in tins or jars. I have received nice letters from Ray Lee, Suzanne Clery, Mr. Kriendler, Mrs. Ericson, Ben Keith, Granny, Mrs. Dinkins, Bertice, and Mrs. Burston in Houston. Sorry to hear about her husband. Since I can't write all of them, please thank them for me. I think as soon as my complete uniform is sent home from Africa, my blouse, good trousers, and so forth, it would be a good idea to send them to one of Dad's friends in London so I can have something to wear once I reach England. Would like to have report on treatment, people in similar case as we are, are receiving at home. I think people at home have wrong idea about us. Oh yes, we can receive book parcels also, so try sending some magazines. Hope you and Carl are fine. Give everyone my regards, especially the barber shop. Hope all my girlfriends aren't worrying you too much. Sure hope to be home before long. Sure hope so because I have done enough traveling. Lots of Love, Amon JR PS I am the 3rd Oldest 2nd LT here and all three of us from same outfit.
