Description
Dear Dad, Keeping in good health. It is Sunday and I am in the library writing this. The temperature is family low and we may have more snow. My time is always occupied, usually by studying. We can choose from any number of subjects, Spanish, art, Italian, law, German, and math. It's a good chance to learn the languages of different countries. Glad you heard a report our morale is high, because it's true. More officers from troops in Texas have arrived here so we are all represented. So far I have received just a little more thank 125 interesting letters from various people. I expect lots of English mail also. Hope that I can before long gain back some considerable weight. I don't feel bad, certainly not like I did at first. Did you all have a very enjoyable trip? I heard that you drove, with Stanley's help. Please thank Dr. McKnight, Mr. North, and Mr. Flem Hall for having written me. Queer that the University of Texas hasn't got any of their very fine catalogues left. Just guess not, maybe they will have some before long. Received fourth clothing parcel, really helped. Don't need anymore clothes, only food. Can't send everybody Christmas card so please tell everyone for me that I wish them a "Merry Christmas" You mentioned Mexica in one of your letters, well it certainly made us feel bad. They don't know how lucky they are. Ask Jim Simmons to write and hint about what he's doing. Give Katrine, Carl, Barbershop Gang, Office, and all my regards. Will write mother and Jean next week. All my love, Amon JR
