- Description
- Dear Mr. Carter: I am enclosing the letter of August 7 I received from my husband, Joe K. Emerson. His middle name is Kennedy and in his letter he was referring to himself when he mentioned it. Ucle Joe is Stalin of the Russians., Doyle is his nephew who is in Patton's army in France., In another letter he said that some men out of Doyle's outfit were there with him. I n a letter to his mother written July 24 he said, "we have lower and upper bunks. We have cubicles in our barrack and Barovic, Pawloski, Medline, Davis, Wood, Cannon, Lantron, yardley and I all stay in one cubicle. Yardley is in charge of the barracks. Davis is an artist and a real good one, and the rest have their vacqations except me. My husband is a farmer and probably doesn't consider it a cacation. I am very glad for you to read Joe's letter - keep it as long as you wish, but do return it as I am keeping them all. Sincerely, Mr. Joe K. Emerson
