- Description
- Dear Sir: Several weks ago I noticed in Des Moines Register an account of your son being missing. Naturally, I am especially interested, since he, and you, and my some Lt. Tom E. Hannume, were together some before they left for Africa. And I thought if I could get in tought with you. I would like to know if you hold received any word from him of late. However today, I rec'd a letter from my other son, who is with the Sincalir refinery in Houston and in if a clipping from teh Houston paper. It said you had word that your son, was a German priosoner, It's not a pleasant other to know that cruise. but I know you must feel greatly relieved to know the he is alive! I was so thoughtful to receive the message you sent in Dec. toTom's wife. Seemed so good to know that he was well, just the night before. I hadn't heard from him for a while them, and wasn't sure wehre he was . I have received several letters from him from Africa and as I am meeting this I'm thinking you may be interesting in this clipping . He said in his last one to me of April 4, you'd be surprised at hour fear things a person needs to live. Jst about everything around home would be alrighting now instead of a necessity. I read Ernie Plyers news everyday and it never to fit in with most news I gather from Toms letter, I wish if they are near, they could week. Thank you and I'll think of your saw often. May God speed the day when peace shall come, and al over boys will come back again! Sincerely, Mary Hannune
