- Description
- Dear Mr. Carter, I received your letter yesterday and words can never express the appreciation I feel over hearing from someone who has someone close to thme where my husband is. It seems to make the worry alittle lighter when ou know there is someone near enough that you can get in touch with them in I didn't hear from him for a long time. I had only been notified by the adjunctant Genral on January 3th that my husband was a prisoner. Since that time, I have received four letters and three cards from my husband. the last thwo were written Dec. 11 and Dec. 16th. There was one Xmas greeting card, but it wasn't dated. In his letters, he had mentioned meeting quite a few Texas Aggies and had named several that he thought I might know. I had heard over a news broadcast that the prisoners had een moved and that here was eing some type of check being made to see if the sixty four Texans who were prisoners in Oflag 64 had been freed from prisoner by the Russians. However, I had not heard it mentioned on any other news broadcast or seem it in any other news broadcastso I was wondering if you had any word about hs I had also been wondering about this. I had also been wondering about how to continue addressing my husbands letters and you have answered that questions. I will be glad to receive any additioanl information or news that you might get. LEt me say again thanks very much or writing to me after hearing from your son. SIncerely, Mrs. John Holland
