- Oct 3, 1943 Dear Mr. Carter: We are under the impression that you located your son who is a German prisoner. I was wondering if there was any way you could help me, or tell me what procedure to take in finding my husband. My husband is 2nd Lt. Roy J. Martines, who has been missing since July 26. He was a bombardier on a flying fortress and was missing over the northwest party Germany at Brener, Hover. We have never heard another word since. I hope you will ltake this letter into consideration because it will be greatly appreciated by all of his family. Very Truly yours, Mrs. Roy J. Martines
