Dear Mr. Carter: I am writing to you to see if you have been able to learn any on=f the names of theoffcers who were freed from Oflag 64 by the Russians. My husband and I have a very dear friend who has been in Oflag 64 by the Russians. My husband and I have a very dear friend who has been in Oflag for over two years and he has mentioned your son Amon Jr in several of his letters. He would appreciate it bery much if you could give us any information. It does look as if the War Dept. is just not going to release the names our friend is Lt. Hollis B Wood of Greggton, Texas. He was at one time a sergeant in my husband's company. Co. A of the 144th Inf. Please send any information youo may have to: Sgt. JA Monroe Co A 144th Inf.
