Description
My dear Mr. Carter: Have you forgotten a honeymooning couple to whom you lent your apartment both on their way to Mexico and returning from that country? Certainly we hope not, for my husband and I agree that, delightful and interesting as Mexico was, nothing quite like getting the experience of being in the quarters of the fabulous Mr. Carter! Consequently , too, we find our freinds much more impressed by our having been your guests than by any tall Mexican tales. Perhaps my husband has already written you his appreciation of the hat you were kind enough to give him and the Black Label. You were quite right: he found no good Scotch any place in the country. Though we thought the French resturuant served very good food, there was nothing that approached the steak at the Ft. Worth club. Since our return we have seen the Audersons only kindly but are to spend an evening with here Saturday. This morning Chicago Tribune carried the attached article which caught our eye immediately. I am hoping that sometime when you are in Chicago you will give us the pleasure of entertaining you. Meantime we want you to know that knowing Mr. Carter quite made our trip! So far the advice re marriage's, not having a one-way street had been heeded. I think we'll always keep both ways open. Thank you very much for your unparalleled hospitality. Cordially, Ruth Halls (Mrs. J.C.)
