- Description
- 403 Hathaway Houston Texas May 4, 1945. Mr. Amon G. Carter, Ft. Worth, Texas. My dear Mr. Carter, congratulations on the news of your son, as reported in the Dallas paper yesterday. I have had no word of my son yet, except that Lt. Cecil, a Houston boy, who escaped from the Oflag 64 group, says that Thatcher was with Amon Jr. and Lt. Jones from here, when he saw them last, about Feb. 1st., as they were being marched into Germany. Lt. Cecil also said that he saw you in New York. Any information you have that might pertain to Thatcher - Lt. John T. Vallentine - please pass on to me. I am very anxious. Most sincerely, Josephine Vallentine
