- May 6 1945 Dear Mr. Carter: I have just finished reading about your good fortune in being reunited with your son. I hope that when you get home to Texas you will help the Chicago Citizens Committee on Press and Radio. I just read about them in the New York Post on a write-up from Francis McMahon it was in May 5 paper he express just what I would like to say and write if I only had the education. You should get after people like Daily news, Fulton Lewis (?). We want to read and hear the news but the truth (?) they even put our beloved FDR in the paper with those two bums Hitler and Muss by saying (?) that those makers are dead that is the Daily News so ask your son (?) should he done with paper like he should be able to tell you. They are out in San Francisco trying to (?) up that conference by herd(?) lines like Russia (?) down in (?) overwhelmed by U.S. (?) Britain and Latin American countries you would think it was a big world battle. I don't know what you write out there as I come from N.Y.C. but if you are (?)
