Description
Rule Texas May 7, 1945. Dear Mrs Carter: I wish to celebrate with you as mother of five Boys on Mothers Day. in my (house?) I have just read in my paper of your son Amon Jr meeting his Dad after being liberated from a camp in Lukenwalde. and he wouldn't go & leave those men & his first words were (it said) "were "Dad" we've just got to get the rest of those guys out." Bless his heart his heart was big enough to not be selfish & I am sure he long waited liberation, yet had concern for his fellow-men. his Dad assured him "The General will take care of that.") (and our Big General (?) all will take (?) & all). a Mother Mrs Gladys (?) I pray it wont be long till hes home with you and all other mothers sons as well. God bless you Mrs Glady (?) Rule Texas.
