Austin 9933 (??) 2610 Whitis St. Austin, Texas September 11, 1944 My Dear Mr. Carter: In the event that you haven't received one of these pictures from your son, here is one for you. In the picture back row left to right are Andy Krepla, Joe Henderson, Eugene Ranck, Chester Warren (Lampasas); bottom row Joe Snyder, Amon Carter, Bruce Martin, and Carl Hansen. This picture was taken Jauary 13, 1944 on the hopsital steps. I certainly appreciated the telephone call from Mrs. Carter in December 1942 when the boys were being transferred from Ireland to England. At that time I was at the University of Illinois.
