- Description
- U.S. Navy Yard Portsmouth, N.H. 12 april, 1944 Dear Katrine, It has been so long since I have heard anything about Amon, and I have been wondering how he is getting along. Although I have been expecting foreign duty orders for the past two months, I am still at the Navy yard here in Portsmouth. If I dont receive any orders by the end of the summer I think I will request them. It has been very pleasant up here, but it doesn't make me feel as though I am doing my part. Maxine and I took some snapshots a short time ago while we were up at North Conway (?). I sent a few of them to Amon and I hope that he will receive them. Do you know whether or not he has received the letters that I have written him? It has been very nice spending a winter in this part of the country, but I can't wait to come back to Texas. There is only one boy up here that went to the University, but we sure have a wonderful time talking about it. Please give my best regards to Mr. Carter and Ruth, and if you have some spare time I would really appreciate a short letter about Amon. Love Pat
