Description
March 27, 1945 Dear Mr. Carter, May I take this means of introducing myself as Mrs. Jack W. Saikin of Gladewater. Many times I have wanted to write, but knowing that you are very busy and may not have the time to answer, I hesitated. My baby brother (?) Lt. Jeddy Roggen of Houston is a war prisoner. I understand that your son is with him at O'Flag 64. My parents haven't heard since January 8th, although thru Mrs. John Jones of Houston they have learned the boys were moved. Yesterday's news was quite disturbing to me when it stated the Red Cross had lost contact of the prisoners. Have you heard from Amon Jr? Do you know the location of the camp is is now in? Any information would be so deeply appreciated. Sincerely, Mrs. Jack W. Saikin
