- Dear Amon- Damon has just sent me the announcement in the press of your sons capture. I know you must be frantic with concern albeit terribly proud of his record at the same time. Words from friends at such a time are futile and stupid but I did want you to know that we are praying for his escape or release and safe return. I am in ferry training flying at the Army Air Base here for my basic training. I may be stationed in Texas for advanced training. Our love to you and keep that Carter chin up where it belongs.
