Description
April 29, 1945. Dear Mr. Carter: I want to apologize for being so slow to acknowledge the animal of your letter and the enclosed pictures of Amon Jr and the others in Germany. It was nice of you to send them and so promptly and I want you to know how much I appreciate your answering my request for the pictures. My charge from Army life to urban life has taken place and I'm now back in civvies again and feeling just a little strange after over four years service. I am quite anxious to know if you have any other news concerning Amon Jr. Now that so many prison camps in Germany have been taken the Americans. I am hoping that Amon is safe again. I'm so anxious to see some of the old 91st going again that I hope they all have arrived their long imprisonment. You can be sure any news of Amon jr. or the fellows the 91st will be appreciated thanks again for your kindness in sending me the nice letter and the pictures. Sincerely, Jim Simmons 665 East 66th St. Indianapolis 5, Indiana
