Description
15 Jan. 43. Dear Mr. Carter, Although somewhat late, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the many favors you have done, that have meant so much to me and my family. I have never known a person so busy with more important matters, who took the time, as you have done, to do things for other people. Many of the officers of our unit have expressed to me their gratitude for you having cabled or telephoned their families. Mary and Dad have both told me of receiving your messages. Yesterday, I saw Amon at a warm spring we had both discovered for bathing. He is looking fine, and I believed his mustache will be a success. I believed his unit and mine will be together some in future operations.
