Description
501 Avondale Houston (6) June 9, 1944 Mr. Amon G. Carter, Ft. Worth, Texas. My dear Mr. Carter, Your letter telling of my son's arrival at Oflag 64 was the first definite news I had had about him since his capture in Italy Feb. 12, 1944, so you can well imagine how happy it made me. Nothing I've heard since has given me as much information either, so I want to thank you but hardly know what words could completely express my appreciation. Perhaps you will be interested to know that I have two other sons in service. One in England and one in this country. They are all Aggies, I am proud to say. Your son has been a prisoner too long. I hope he will soon be exchanged and return to you well and strong. Very sincerely, Josephine J. Vallentine (Mrs. J. W. Vallentine)
